Briefd (“we”, “our”, or “us”) operates the Briefd marketplace — a platform that connects clients with designers for creative work. We take your privacy seriously and are committed to protecting your personal information.
This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights as a user of our platform. By using Briefd, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- •Account information — your name, email address, username, and password when you register.
- •Payment information — payment card details and billing information, processed securely by Stripe. We never store raw card data on our servers.
- •Device fingerprint and IP address — a unique identifier derived from your browser and device, along with your IP address, used to enforce platform safety and prevent ban evasion.
- •Chat messages — messages sent between users in negotiation threads. All messages are monitored for compliance with our zero tolerance policy against off-platform communication and payment.
- •Uploaded design files — work submitted by designers, including watermarked previews and clean final files, stored encrypted.
- •Usage data and analytics — pages visited, features used, and interactions with the platform to help us improve the service.
How We Use Your Information
- •To provide the Briefd marketplace service — creating accounts, posting briefs, processing submissions, and facilitating negotiations.
- •To process payments via Stripe — securely handling brief deposits from clients, design payments, commission deductions from designers, and designer payouts.
- •To enforce our zero tolerance policy — monitoring chat messages and detecting attempts to conduct transactions outside the platform.
- •To send email notifications via Resend — notifying you of new submissions, messages, deal completions, and other platform activity.
- •To detect and prevent fraud — using IP addresses, device fingerprints, and behavioral signals to identify fraudulent activity.
Data Storage
- •Account and platform data is stored securely on Supabase servers with encryption at rest and in transit.
- •Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe and is subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy. We store only transaction records (amounts, timestamps) on our servers.
- •Design files are stored encrypted on Supabase Storage. Clean files are only accessible to the client once payment is completed.
- •Device fingerprints and IP addresses of banned users are stored permanently to prevent ban evasion and maintain platform safety.
Data Sharing
- •We never sell your data to third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
- •Stripereceives only the payment information required to process transactions. See Stripe's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle your data.
- •Law enforcement — we may share data if required by a valid legal request, court order, or to protect the safety of our users or the public.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- •Right to access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- •Right to deletion — request that we delete your account and associated data. Note that data related to completed transactions may be retained for legal and accounting purposes.
- •Right to data portability — request an export of your data in a machine-readable format.
- •Right to correction — request that we correct inaccurate data we hold about you.

Cookie Policy
- •Essential cookies only — we use cookies solely to maintain your login session and provide the core platform functionality.
- •No advertising or tracking cookies — we do not use third-party advertising networks, retargeting pixels, or cross-site tracking cookies.
Zero Tolerance Policy & Ban Enforcement
Briefd operates a zero tolerance policy for off-platform communication and payment. If your account is permanently banned for violating this policy:
- •Your device fingerprint and IP address will be stored permanently in our ban enforcement database to prevent re-registration under a new account.
- •This data is retained indefinitely as it is necessary to protect the safety and integrity of the platform and other users.
- •Banned users do not have the right to deletion of device fingerprint or IP ban records, as their retention serves a legitimate safety interest.
